The Navajo Division of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert on Thursday night for two children who may have been taken by their father in Aneth, Utah, according to a Facebook post from the Navajo Police Department.
At about 4:21 p.m., 16-month-old Bailey Begay and 3-month-old Braidin Begay were reported missing by their mother, according to the post. The children were taken from their home located 15 miles north of Aneth store in Aneth, Utah.
The post states that the children were last seen leaving the home with their father, 35, who is reported to have made threats of self-harm, and the children are believed to be in danger. Although it is unknown which direction they may have gone, the post states the father may “possibly be traveling towards Cortez, Colorado; Moab, Utah; Telluride, Colorado; or the Delores, Colorado mountain area.”
The father may be traveling in a brown over white 2005 Ford F250 truck with an extended cab and temporary Arizona license plate. Braidin is described as about 1 foot tall and 11-12 pounds, and he has short black hair and brown eyes. Bailey is about 2 feet tall and 25 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, and she was last seen wearing a spaghetti-strap shirt and blue jeans.
