WEST JORDAN — Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in West Jordan early Thursday.
Officers responded to the area of 7000 South and 5200 West about 2:30 a.m. and found a man deceased in the street, according to West Jordan Police Lt. Richard Bell. The man appeared to be in his 20s or 30s and had been shot. No other information about him was immediately known.
Investigators believe a black van was parked near the intersection of Ticklegrass Road and Sparrowtail Road about 2:20 a.m. when a silver car, possibly a Cadillac CTS, pulled up. One person got out of the Cadillac and fired several shots at someone in the van. At some point, the van rammed the Cadillac before the Cadillac fled the scene.
Police do not have a suspect description, but they are looking for a silver four-door Cadillac CTS with significant damage to the rear passenger side. Anyone with information should call police.
