The Utah Highway Patrol reported an “active gunman incident” on Interstate 15 on Monday at 7:47 p.m., according to a post on the Department of Public Safety’s website.
According to the post, troopers attempted to stop a vehicle, which fled the area. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after a pursuit, and shots were fired at pursuing officers, but no injuries have been reported. It’s unclear at this point if the driver was who shot at the officers.
There is no threat to the public at this time, but people should avoid the area, the post states.
