Here is some good news for anyone craving gyros and baklava: Salt Lake City’s Greek Festival is returning this fall after being forced to take a hiatus last year because of COVID-19.
The festival, hosted by the Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Salt Lake, will take place Sept. 10-12 in downtown Salt Lake City near Pioneer Park. As in past years, the event will feature Greek food and dance performances. People will also have the chance to tour Holy Trinity Cathedral at 279 S. 300 West, and the Hellenic Cultural Museum.
“We are excited to celebrate our culture and heritage with Utah and the surrounding states, and look forward to sharing our Greek hospitality with everyone,” said Parish Council President George Karahalios in a news release.
